Frequently Asked Questions

How accurate are the appraisals?

Reports provide preliminary observations from photographs and supplied details. They do not certify materials, authenticity, gemstone grades, or value. Seek an independent in-person appraisal for insurance or other formal purposes.

What types of jewelry can I appraise?

You can upload rings, necklaces, bracelets, earrings, brooches, watches, pendants, loose gemstones, and jewelry sets. The report explores visible details; brand attribution and authenticity require verification.

How do I get the best appraisal results?

Use clear, well-lit photos showing the entire piece. Include close-ups of any hallmarks, stamps, or maker's marks. If you know details about the piece (provenance, certificates, previous appraisals), add them in the additional details field.

What's included in the free tier?

Free users can save up to 3 appraisals with full AI analysis, gemstone identification, metal assessment, and market valuations. You can also favorite pieces and organize them into collections.

What do I get with Professional?

Professional subscribers can save beyond the free plan’s three-report limit, export PDF reports, and use shareable report links and collection tools.

Can I compare two pieces of jewelry?

Yes! Use our comparison feature to view two appraisals side-by-side. This is perfect for evaluating similar pieces, comparing inherited jewelry, or deciding between purchases.

How do I share an appraisal with someone?

Use Share on a saved report to create a link. Anyone with the link can view the photo and selected report details. Turn off sharing to disable future access through that link.

Is my jewelry data secure?

Absolutely. Your photos and appraisal data are encrypted and stored securely. Only you can access your collection unless you explicitly create a share link for individual pieces.

Can I export my appraisals?

Professional subscribers can export individual reports as PDFs containing preliminary observations and available value estimates. These do not replace an independent appraisal required for insurance.

What if I disagree with the valuation?

Estimates depend on the supplied details and may differ from offers or prices established through physical examination and verified comparables. Consult a qualified appraiser when a reliable value is needed.

Can I update an appraisal later?

Currently, you can add pieces to collections, mark favorites, and track value history. To get updated market valuations, create a new appraisal with fresh photos—this also adds to your value history tracking.

Do you identify lab-grown diamonds?

A photograph cannot reliably distinguish a natural diamond from a lab-grown diamond or a simulant. Confirmation requires appropriate testing by a qualified jeweler or gemological laboratory.
